Feng Shui bracelets have moved far beyond Asia. Today they are worn by entrepreneurs, healers, students, and anyone who wants a small, daily reminder that energy — qi — flows through every part of life. But what actually makes a bracelet “Feng Shui,” and how do you pick one that works for your goal? This guide walks you through it from zero.
What is a Feng Shui bracelet?
A Feng Shui bracelet is a piece of jewelry built around the principles of Five Elements theory (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water) and the energetic properties of natural materials — gemstones, sandalwood, copper, and symbolic charms such as the Pixiu, the lotus, or ancient coins. The intention is not just decoration: each material is chosen to attract a specific kind of energy, like wealth, calm, love, or protection.
Choose by intention, not by looks
- Wealth & abundance: Pixiu, citrine, tiger’s eye, green phantom quartz.
- Love & relationships: Rose quartz, strawberry quartz, rhodonite.
- Protection from negativity: Black obsidian, black tourmaline, hematite.
- Calm & focus: Amethyst, lapis lazuli, sodalite.
- Health & vitality: Red agate, garnet, bloodstone.

Which wrist should you wear it on?
The classic Feng Shui rule: the left wrist receives, the right wrist releases. So bracelets meant to attract something — wealth, love, luck — are worn on the left. Bracelets meant to send out energy, like protective ones that absorb and discharge negativity (black obsidian), are often worn on the right. The Pixiu is a famous exception with its own rule, which we cover below.
The Pixiu rule
Pixiu is a mythical creature that “eats wealth and never lets it out.” For this reason a Pixiu bracelet is traditionally worn on the left wrist, with the head of the Pixiu facing outward (toward your little finger), so it can “swallow” wealth from the outside world and bring it back to you.

How to cleanse and activate your bracelet
- Cleanse: Rinse under running water for 1–2 minutes, or smudge with sage / palo santo. (Avoid water for soft stones like turquoise or selenite.)
- Charge: Place under moonlight overnight, especially on a full moon. Sunlight works for most stones except amethyst and citrine, which can fade.
- Set the intention: Hold the bracelet in your hands, close your eyes, and clearly state what you want it to support — out loud or in your head.
- Wear it daily. Energy work is consistency work. The bracelet becomes “yours” through contact.
How to take care of it
- Take it off in the shower, sauna, or pool — chlorine and hot water damage the elastic and dull the stones.
- Re-cleanse every 2–4 weeks, especially after stressful periods.
- If it breaks, that’s not bad luck — many traditions say it has done its job and absorbed something on your behalf. Thank it and move on.
Final thoughts
A Feng Shui bracelet is not magic — it’s a focusing tool. The stones, symbols, and rituals work because they make your intention visible and repeatable. Pick one that matches what you actually want more of in your life, wear it consistently, and let it become a daily anchor for the energy you’re inviting in.
